Who forgot to tell the Weatherman?

Can someone please tell me what happened to May? Can it really be June tomorrow already? Well, if the past month went by quickly, the last two weeks of it, in particular, absolutely flew by!

But it seems that someone forgot to tell the weatherman that the weather this time of year is supposed to be warm. Here we are one night last week, walking home from the park just before bedtime. Notice the sundresses, and shorts? Well just 24 hours later it was almost freezing out. At the girls' soccer game the following night we needed parkas and sleeping bags to keep warm. Even though girls their age typically huddle together and chase the ball, that night they were huddling together just to keep warm! I sure hope June brings us all some sun!

Scrapalicious Sunshine

It's nice that the weather is finally warming up around here. Since we had to put up with rain all weekend last long weekend, I'm glad that we are finally seeing some sunshine. And sunshine is such a suitable thing to honour with a layout. This little peek of Alicia and her sunny disposition is a page that's coming soon, along with more from my Scrapalicious DT kit. So check back in a bit!

Have a great weekend. I hope your weather is super, too.

Where Did It Go?

I know it's cliche, but I really don't know where the time went.
My boy is 8! Wow - I really can't believe it.

Enough said?

Long Weekend Scrapping!

With a wonderful long weekend upon us, I'm hoping to get a little bit of scrapping in. When you start with the Crate Paper Sweet Branch collection, add the latest and coolest chipboard from Riff Raff Designs, throw in some glittery Thickers and a template from The Crafter's Workshop, the end result has to be a ton of fun!

I hope to tear through some of this product this weekend! Check back in soon to see some new creations with my May Design Team kit from Scrapalicious. And have a super long weekend!

I Think He Approves...

After photographing my recent layouts for posting on the web, I left the room to upload the photos.

When I then returned to pick up the last layout, which I had left on the floor beside the window, this is what I saw....

Do you think Evan likes my layout about his favourite toys?

Summer has Arrived at Scrapalicious!

I really enjoyed playing with the Inque Boutique stamps I received this month in my DT kit from Scrapalicious. When I looked at the Wildflower Seed stamp beside the Big & Wild Things stamps from gelatins, it was truly a beautiful day! I couldn't resist using them together here. I embossed the sun using Ranger's Distress embossing powder. The flower accent that the Wildflower Seed stamp sits on is distressed Core'dinations cardstock, which I sanded to let the orange tone on tone show through.
When I took this photo with Evan and his latest obsession, I learned quickly that you don't pluralize the word Bakugan! My mistake, bud! Evan was thrilled when he saw this layout with his favourite magnetic brawling toys. Once again, the Photo Op journaling stamp is an Inque Boutique from the Page Seals set. Patterned paper is My Mind's Eye, title letters are American Crafts Thickers and the tiny journaling letters are the latest Making Memories release, which come in many awesome colours!
Stars take centre stage on this layout about my favourite soccer star! The stamps here are again Inque Boutique, this time the Star set. I used the stamps and buttons to mimic the My Mind's Eye paper. The die cut stars, swirl and journaling labels are also from My Mind's Eye. I'm lucky enough to have already received my next DT kit from Scrapalicious, and will be posting a little product peek as soon as I get a chance to photograph it. A little Crate Paper, Chatterbox and Crafter's Workshop, coming up!

So check back soon and have a great week!

Happy Mother's Day!

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend doing what I wanted to do more than anything else - spend time with my husband and kids! We were also able to visit with Grandma and Nan, and chat with Grannie on the phone. We're so blessed!

Overall, the weather was a little cool, but we still managed to spend quite a bit of time outdoors.
On Saturday afternoon, after hitting the garage sale at Scrapalicious ;-) we had a long-awaited play date with Ethan and Ashley. The kids had a fantastic time playing together, particularly since Evan and Ethan both have an obsession with Star Wars Lego, and since the girls all seem able to turn anything you can imagine in to a craft project!
The girls were thrilled when Ashley explained to them that colouring on your face with washable marker is a norm at her house. Of course, they couldn't resisit trying it themselves!

I hope that every Mom out there, as well as everyone who loves a Mom, had a chance to celebrate together this weekend. Happy Mother's Day!

Destination Create: Part V

At the cropping table...

It was fantastic sharing a cropping table with these delightful and talented ladies at Destination Create. Pictured with me are Jen Backler, (who also taught some awesome classes), Angela, Jennifer and Lori. Not only are these gals great fun to be around, but I was so inspired by each of them and their wonderful work.

We also had fun being seated next to Kimmie, Tina, Janice, and The Nook's talented photographer/teacher/designer Deanna. The scrapping mojo, the laughter, the conversation and the snacks were all the very best. Take a moment and visit these gals' blogs and check out the unique and innovative designs they each create. You'll be inspired!

Photos of the 70's disco craziness will follow soon.

A Scrapalicious Summery Sneak Peek

I had a wonderful time over the weekend working with the Inque Boutique stamps in my DT kit from Scrapalicious. When you couple these great stamps with some wonderful new papers from My Mind's Eye, you get so much fun and colour, you can't help but feel cheery. I could become convinced that spring is finally here!

Stay tuned for this layout and others, coming soon!

Destination Create: Part IV

This much fun really OTT to be illegal!

After planning for and being excited about Destination Create for the past year, it's hard to believe that it has now come and gone. I'm thrilled to have spend the past weekend with some of the most wonderful gals anyone could possibly know. Patti, Elia and gang put on a wonderful, fun-filled and exhausting retreat. It rocked!

Between the draws during classes, gifts from sponsors and door prizes, I was lucky enough to come away from the event with these wonderful products to add to my stash. You may notice in the back ground here an OTT light - yes, I won one of the door prizes! I can't wait to try it out. Also, I'm a huge fan of all of the sponsoring companies and was fortunate enough to come away with some great supplies, including a few from Cosmo Cricket and stamps from gelatins. Lucky me! :-)

I hope you all had as wonderful a National Scrapbook Day weekend as I did. I'll be posting more about the event over the next little while, so stay tuned!

Also coming up soon is a little peek at the layouts I've completed with my latest kit from Scrapalicious. Have a super week!

Destination Create: Part III

Happy National Scrapbook Day Weekend!

I'm so excited that this weekend is here. For those of use headed to Destination Create, we've been talking about it for a year now and it's finally going to happen! In addition to hanging out with my fantastic roommates Angela and Lori, and taking classes from the awesome Jen Backler and the amazing Vicki Boutin, this weekend of fun sponsored by The Scrapping Nook's incredible Patti, Elia and team will be the site of an incredible disco dance party. I'm totally ready to dress the part! From the tip of my sequined hat to my platform sandals, from my John Lennon sunglasses and peace sign necklace to my patchwork snakeskin pants, I'm going to dance the night away.

Here is a tiny peek at my disco outfit. When I set up to photograph it, the girls wanted to be in the picture, so I let them! Vanessa wouldn't stay still and is a bit blurry, but that's OK. I'm so hyped about Destination Create! I'll have more photos to share after the big boogie.

Have a wonderful NSD weekend. I know I will!
